Historical Korean balance commentary · About these guides
This Korean editorial argues that damage buffs alone did not address the author’s concerns about Sorceress skill commitment and MP. It is a historical critique, not a current North American class ranking or evidence that all players stopped upgrading.
The source frames the concern as disappointment in a favored main.
That expresses the author’s reaction rather than a measured survey of Sorceress players. Perceived reliability and comfort can matter separately from theoretical damage.
The article focuses on a 2.7% PvE adjustment and passive changes. The Western September package also contains a separate 4.5% adjustment excluding Hyper Awakening, alongside other changes, so “only 2.7%” is not a complete description of that Western update.
Long Holding or Casting skills can be vulnerable to interruption, but protection depends on the actual skill and build. The September Western notes specifically add Lightning Bolt Push Immunity through Lightning Torrent’s 17-point effect and Casting-skill Push Immunity through Magick Catalyst. The October icon correction does not, by itself, prove those effects were removed. Paralysis and Push Immunity are also different protections, neither of which means damage invulnerability.
The source contrasts Sorceress MP pressure with Summoner improvements. That comparison is opinion without matched builds or MP measurements. Review current skill costs, passives, runes, cooldowns, and party assistance rather than assuming every Sorceress has the same resource problem.
More gear cannot remove every animation commitment or missed hit. However, the article provides no evidence that Sorceress upgrades universally have poor value or that another class always performs better in raids.
If the playstyle feels uncomfortable, test the relevant core effects and skill options before committing more resources. A pause is reasonable, but does not require accepting the source’s claim that all improvement efforts are pointless.
Why Might a Damage Buff Still Feel Insufficient?
Because damage and usability are different questions. An interrupted or missed skill can lose much of its theoretical value. Compare actual attack windows and the protection your current setup provides, rather than assuming every historical complaint remains unchanged.
Were There Really No Protection Improvements?
That claim is too broad for the current Western version. Later official notes include conditional protection through specific cores. Check whether those effects are equipped and active; the existence of an option does not mean every Sorceress build receives it automatically.
Was MP Completely Solved for Every Mage Class?
No such conclusion is established here. MP comfort depends on the complete build and encounter. The source’s feeling of unequal treatment is an editorial judgment, not proof of discriminatory intent or a class-wide resource measurement.
