TFT Set 18 Pebbles Reroll: Blue Buff, Invokers, and the Post-3-Star Plan

URITRIP·September 22, 2026

Set 18 Pebbles reroll 3-stars the 1-cost Pebbles and uses Invoker mana support to cast repeatedly. Pebbles is the main damage source, Kog’Maw is the secondary carry, and Sentinel becomes the late-game tank.

Start with Blue Buff for Pebbles, avoid unnecessary early XP purchases, then level after the 3-star to add Invokers and frontline. This guide describes an early-Set 18 video example; later patches can change item and trait value.

Pebbles Reroll at a Glance

Category Plan
Main carry Pebbles 3
Secondary carry Kog’Maw
Late-game tank Sentinel
Alpha Mark recipient Pebbles
Core item Blue Buff on Pebbles
Trait direction Open with Riftbeast, then aim for five Invokers
Upgrade order Pebbles 3 → levels → Invokers and frontline

The engine is repeated Pebbles casts. Combine the Alpha effect with Invoker mana support and a frontline that keeps the fight going.

Finishing Pebbles’s items does not finish the board. From midgame onward, develop Kog’Maw’s secondary damage and Sentinel’s survival too.

Pebbles Items: Start with Blue Buff

Blue Buff Is the First Priority

Pebbles gains value from frequent casts. This route treats Blue Buff as a near-core requirement and prioritizes Tear of the Goddess early.

Give Pebbles the Alpha Mark too. Its mana regeneration, combined with Invokers, supports repeated ability use.

Consider Gunblade and Deathcap for the Other Slots

Hextech Gunblade and Rabadon’s Deathcap are the preferred pair in the example’s discussion. With Gunblade included, the commentator favors Deathcap over Jeweled Gauntlet for the remaining damage item.

Item Decision Point
Blue Buff First-priority core item
Hextech Gunblade Add sustain
Rabadon’s Deathcap Preferred damage partner for Gunblade in this example
Jeweled Gauntlet Use matching components when immediate strength matters

The actual game uses Blue Buff, Gunblade, and Jeweled Gauntlet. Instead of waiting for Deathcap, the player uses an available Glove to gain strength immediately.

Rather than only memorizing recommended items, ask whether completing an item now can win the next fights. If waiting causes heavy losses, using the components you already have has value.

Kog’Maw, Morgana, and Sentinel: Roles and Items

Kog’Maw Takes the AD Items

This setup uses Kog’Maw as a physical carry. Give Pebbles the magic items and direct remaining AD components toward Kog’Maw so both damage sources can develop.

The proposed Kog’Maw build is Deathblade, Infinity Edge, and Giant Slayer. Collect him while rolling for Pebbles and while leveling afterward, aiming for Kog’Maw 2.

Kog’Maw also connects Invokers. He is a genuine secondary threat in fights Pebbles cannot finish alone, rather than simply an item storage unit.

Morgana Applies Anti-Heal

Morgana can use anti-heal such as Morellonomicon. The example first uses an available Red Buff, then considers changing to Morellonomicon later.

After the two carries’ items, prepare support that reduces enemy healing. A spare late-game Blue Buff can also go to Morgana.

Sentinel Anchors the Late Frontline

Use available tanks early, then find Sentinel and focus defensive items there. The example gives Sentinel the tank role after hitting the 2-star.

Even strong Pebbles damage struggles if frontline falls first. Watch the end of fights to decide whether another carry item or a tank upgrade is more urgent.

Early Game: Save XP Gold and Collect Pebbles

Avoid Rushing Levels Before Pebbles 3

This starts as 1-cost reroll. Instead of buying XP immediately, collect Pebbles and build interest to fund shop refreshes.

Rerolling means refreshing the shop to collect more copies. With Pebbles 3 as the target, direct early spending toward that goal.

Do not turn the example into an automatic all-in round. Adjust spending to Pebbles copies and remaining HP. The featured game hits quickly; that pace is not guaranteed.

Use Teemo and Available Tanks for the Opener

Teemo provides early Invoker access alongside your available frontline. Equip Pebbles with core items such as Blue Buff when you can make them.

This is not an obligatory loss-streak comp. The actual game uses slammable items to keep winning. Reroll does not require deliberately weakening a board that can win now.

After Pebbles 3: Level Toward Five Invokers

Once Pebbles is 3-star, spending priorities change. Level to add Invokers and improve Kog’Maw and Sentinel.

Stage Priority
Before Pebbles 3 Collect copies, prepare Blue Buff, and build economy
Immediately after Pebbles 3 Level for additional units
Midgame improvements Kog’Maw 2 and items; add Morgana
Late-game stabilization Sentinel 2, defensive items, and five Invokers
Late game with substantial resources Consider higher levels and Elder Dragon

The example describes an early-to-midgame three-Riftbeast shell using Pebbles, Scuttlecrab, and Sentinel. Later it expands, with a board showing five Invokers and five Riftbeasts active together.

The priority is upgrading Pebbles while adding casting support and tanks, not forcing a large Riftbeast number immediately. Judge new slots by actual tanking and secondary damage as well as traits.

Using Wisps and Elder Dragon

The example chooses Wisp support that increases Pebbles’s mana regeneration and later adds another related boost.

Learn to recognize a purchase that improves casting rather than memorizing every option name. Whether you need economy or immediate combat value depends on how complete the board already is.

The featured late game reaches level 10 and uses Elder Dragon. He occupies two team slots, so calculate replacements and remaining traits before adding him.

Level 10 and Elder Dragon are optional extensions when resources allow. First learn to complete Pebbles 3, carry items, Sentinel, and Invokers reliably.

Common Pebbles Reroll Mistakes

  • Spending too much on early XP: leaves less gold to collect Pebbles.

  • Delaying Blue Buff: postpones the repeated-cast engine.

  • Rolling without a goal after Pebbles 3: can miss the level timing needed for more units and traits.

  • Giving Kog’Maw only magic items: conflicts with his physical carry role in this setup.

  • Adding only Pebbles damage while neglecting tanks: leaves Sentinel’s stars and defenses unfinished late.

  • Expecting the featured game’s high-roll timing: ignores differences in shops and economy.

FAQ

Which Pebbles Item Comes First?

Blue Buff. Consider Gunblade and Deathcap afterward; Jeweled Gauntlet is usable when components and immediate fights favor it.

Who Gets the Alpha Mark?

Pebbles, the main carry, to reinforce mana regeneration and casting.

What Should I Do After Pebbles 3?

Level for Invokers and frontline. Check Kog’Maw 2 and items, Sentinel 2, and the five-Invoker board.

Must Kog’Maw Be 3-Star Too?

The basic route levels after Pebbles 3 and uses Kog’Maw as secondary damage. It does not require delaying levels to force Kog’Maw 3.

Can a Beginner Copy This and Guarantee First?

The clear carry and upgrade sequence make it understandable to practice. Contesting, components, and Wisp or other shop-power choices still change outcomes. Learn what to improve after Pebbles 3 rather than expecting to reproduce one finished game exactly.

Regional and version notes

This is an early-Set 18 gameplay example. Blue Buff priority and AD Kog’Maw are choices within that setup, not universal builds. Level 10 and Elder Dragon are optional high-resource extensions.
