PUBG Update 43.1 centered on the Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration, new kicks, faster swimming and diving, and more convenient item controls. LMG adjustments, Emergency Parachute changes, and Ranked Season 43 also affected regular matches.
Returning players should start with unarmed kicks and the tap-versus-hold controls for carrying or using ground items. Those changes affect more everyday decisions than the collaboration visuals alone.
This is a guide to the September 2026 update, not a claim that its limited-time events are still running. Below are the changes most likely to matter when you play.

Alongside new content, 43.1 changed routine interactions used while looting and rotating.
What Did the Jujutsu Kaisen Collaboration Add?

The Starting-Island Satoru Gojo Statue
Before a match, players could interact with the collaboration feature on the starting island.
On entering, each player received 20 Mysterious Orbs to throw at the Jujutsu Kaisen Box.
After 20 accumulated hits, the box opened to reveal a Satoru Gojo statue. An effect representing his Domain Expansion, Unlimited Void, appeared around it for about 15 seconds.
This was a pre-match presentation, not a combat ability granted to players.
Themed Warehouses on Erangel
Some Erangel warehouses also received Jujutsu Kaisen decorations.
They included character standees and photo spots. The themed vending machines supplied healing or boost items.
The original feature breakdown was:
-
Starting-island Jujutsu Kaisen Box: all maps
-
Themed Care Packages: all maps
-
Themed transport plane: all maps
-
Jujutsu Kaisen warehouses: Erangel
-
Jujutsu Kaisen billboards: Erangel
The world features also supported Ranked and Casual Mode alongside Normal Match. Their original availability was time-limited.
How to Kick: Right-Click While Unarmed on PC

One of 43.1’s new actions was the kick.
With default PC bindings, right-click while unarmed to perform a Standing Kick.
| Action | Default PC Input | Console Input |
|---|---|---|
| Standing Kick | Right-click while unarmed | LT |
| Jump Kick | Right-click while jumping unarmed | LT while jumping unarmed |
You can assign a different kick key in Key Bindings. Console labels here follow the published Xbox-style button notation; check your platform and control configuration.
Kicks deal more damage and stronger knockback than punches, giving you a way to push opponents back or interrupt them at close range.
Kicks Can Also Break Some Doors and Windows
Their use extends beyond hitting another player.
Certain environmental objects also respond to kicks.
Examples of destructible objects include:
-
Windows
-
Wooden doors
-
Wooden fences
-
Jars
-
Tires
Some otherwise indestructible doors can be opened quickly with a kick, but there are exceptions. An object’s size or structure can also prevent destruction even when its general type is on the list.
Kicking a vending machine can dispense items faster than a normal interaction, but damages it and makes it temporarily unavailable.
That tradeoff can matter during an early building entry or a close-range scramble.
Swimming Changes: Limited Combat at the Surface
Entering water has traditionally left players with few ways to respond to threats.
Update 43.1 added mobility and limited combat options.
Both swimming and diving movement became 25% faster than before the update.
Certain weapons can also be used at the surface.
What Can You Use at the Surface?
The supported categories are:
-
Sidearms
-
Throwables
Sidearms include more than ordinary pistols: the patch also covers items equipped in the third weapon slot.
Water-surface combat still has restrictions.
You must be stationary to use the weapon; movement or diving stows it. Sidearms have more spread than on land, and throwables only support overhand throws. This does not enable unrestricted underwater gunfights.
Think of the change as a limited way to respond while choosing a river or coastal route. It does not make water as safe or flexible as solid cover.
Carry Ground Items: Tap H on PC
You can carry certain ground items directly without adding them to your inventory.
The default PC input is H; the published console input is LB + X.
A carried item does not consume inventory capacity. You can carry one item type at a time.
Which Items Can You Carry?
Supported categories include:
-
Weapon attachments
-
Healing and boost items
-
Helmets
-
Vests
-
Backpacks
-
Throwables
-
Ammunition
Items that spawn in stacks, such as ammunition and Bandages, can be carried in their default spawn quantity.
Throwing a Carried Item
While carrying an item, press left-click on PC or RT on console to throw it.
The animation and throw distance vary with the item’s size.
You can hand supplies to a teammate by carrying and throwing them without first rearranging your inventory and dropping the item again.
Ordinary carried items do not deal damage when thrown at another player.
Use Ground Items Directly: Hold H on PC
The other key interaction is Instant Item Use.
Look at a supported ground item and hold H to use or deploy it without first putting it in your inventory.
On console, hold LB + X using the published default button notation.
| Action | Default PC Input | Published Console Input |
|---|---|---|
| Carry item | Tap H | LB + X |
| Throw carried item | Left-click | RT |
| Use ground item | Hold H | Hold LB + X |
Alongside healing and boost items, supported equipment includes:
-
Folded Shield
-
Emergency Pickup
-
Mortar
-
C4
Remember that ‘instant’ skips the inventory step, not the item’s use time.
The item’s existing activation conditions and use duration still apply.
Using a healing item from the floor does not remove its healing animation or timer.
Tap to Carry, Hold to Use
The two H-key interactions can be easy to confuse at first.
Keep this distinction in mind:
Tap H
Pick up the item by hand to move it or throw it to a teammate.
Hold H
Use or deploy the ground item from your current position without adding it to inventory.
To pass Bandages, carry and throw them. To heal yourself directly from a ground item, hold H.
Practicing that distinction makes the new looting interactions easier to use under pressure.
LMGs Were Also Toned Down
Update 43.1 adjusted several aspects of LMG performance.
The main changes were:
-
Longer ADS transition time
-
Lower M249 and RPD damage multipliers against vehicles
-
Lower MG3 damage multiplier against vehicles
-
Smaller stance-based recoil-control benefits
-
30% lower world spawn rates for the RPD and M249
The changes targeted stability, vehicle pressure, and availability while retaining the class’s sustained-fire role.
If you relied heavily on LMGs before 43.1, reassess those interactions rather than assuming the old handling still applies.
Emergency Parachutes: Early Landings Can Hurt

The minimum Emergency Parachute deployment height changed from 10 m to 9 m
. That comes with another important rule:
Landing before the parachute fully opens can cause fall damage. Higher landing speed means more damage.
If you habitually opened at the last possible moment, leave a larger margin. Being able to deploy does not guarantee a safe touchdown.
Ranked Season 43
The update launched Ranked Season 43.
The season’s permanent Tier Reward includes a Ranked Mk14 weapon skin.
Solo and Duo minimum performance requirements increased for Gold and higher tiers, and some Ranked Play Point Rewards changed. Available Ranked queues vary by region and platform; this is not a promise of every queue in North America.
The Ranked leaderboard also reset with the season’s maintenance.
PC Duo Rumble
The 43.1 Rumble event used two-player crews rather than full squads.
Its listed regions were AS, EU, and NA, using TPP Normal Match Duos on Erangel, Taego, Miramar, or Rondo. This was a scheduled event, not a permanent queue announcement.
The smaller crew requirement made it possible to enter with one teammate. Its published service window ended before the October 14 PC maintenance; do not assume it is currently available.
When Did the Jujutsu Kaisen Event End?
The world features and reward missions had separate schedules.
The 43.1 patch notes described the collaboration world features as available until the following update. That historical window should not be treated as an active offer now.
The separate PUBG x Jujutsu Kaisen mission event ended at these North American times in 2026:
-
PC: September 23, 7 p.m. PDT / 10 p.m. EDT (September 24, 02:00 UTC)
-
Console: September 30, 7 p.m. PDT / 10 p.m. EDT (October 1, 02:00 UTC)
The source’s Wednesday 11 a.m. Korean reset corresponds to Tuesday 7 p.m. PDT / 10 p.m. EDT during this event’s dates.
The mission list included lobby entry, hitting the collaboration box with Mysterious Orbs, entering a themed warehouse, and using its vending machines.
Seeing a themed location and being eligible to earn a reward are separate questions. The listed mission windows have ended.

Can Kicks Break Doors?
Some wooden doors, windows, wooden fences, jars, and tires can be destroyed. Size and structure can create exceptions.
Can I Shoot While Swimming?
You can use supported sidearms and throwables while stationary at the surface, with restrictions. Moving or diving stows the weapon. Swimming and diving movement also became 25% faster in 43.1.
Do Carried Items Use Backpack Space?
No. Hand-carried items do not use inventory capacity, but you can carry only one item type at a time. Actions such as drawing a weapon or entering a vehicle automatically drop it.
Was Carrying Death Boxes New in 43.1?
No. Carrying death boxes already existed. Update 43.1 added carrying and throwing for ordinary supported items and improved some existing death-box carrying actions.
Returning After 43.1? Start With These Controls
The collaboration attracted attention, but kicks, item interactions, and swimming changes have a broader effect on routine play.
Use this checklist; the collaboration entry is historical:
-
The limited-time starting-island feature let players reveal the Satoru Gojo statue; it is not a required current step.
-
Try a kick while unarmed using your configured input.
-
Practice tapping versus holding H on supported ground items on PC.
-
Remember the limited stationary surface-combat options when planning a water crossing.
-
Allow enough height for an Emergency Parachute to open before landing.
Start with tap H to carry; hold H to use a ground item. That small distinction makes the new interaction system easier to remember.
Practice these controls in a suitable low-pressure setting, then work them into ordinary looting and movement. Check later patch notes for changes introduced after 43.1.
