Gigantamax Cinderace Guide: Water Counters, Team Roles, and Upgrade Priorities

URITRIP·October 3, 2026

Gigantamax Cinderace requires both effective damage and survival. Prepare eligible Water attackers and coordinate defensive or healing support, then judge captured candidates against your existing Fire Max Battle roster and resources.

Original Max Battle Day Details

The October 3, 2026 event ran 2–5 p.m. local time with six-star Gigantamax Cinderace and its Shiny debut opportunity. That event has ended. Multiple attempts did not guarantee a Shiny.

Item Historical Event Detail
Battle tier Six-star Max Battles
Shiny Possible, not guaranteed
Particle collection cap 1,600 during the event
Power Spot bonus 8× Particles, more active spots, and faster refreshes
Exploration bonus 2× Particles and one-quarter collection distance during its separate window

Collect ready Particles in Nearby first for the exploration bonus to apply. The collection cap and inventory balance are different; use the actual battle cost to plan attempts.

Weaknesses and Eligible Counters

Water, Ground, and Rock

Cinderace is Fire-type, weak to Water, Ground, and Rock. A strong ordinary raid Pokémon still cannot enter unless that individual is Max Battle eligible.

Check Prepared Water Attackers First

Candidate Role
Gigantamax Inteleon Water Gigantamax damage
Gigantamax Kingler An owned Water attacker to compare
Dynamax Inteleon Alternative with a Water Fast Attack

This is a roster checklist, not a fixed performance ranking. Level and Max Move upgrades matter, so compare prepared individuals before starting another costly build.

Check Survival Against Focus Blast

Cinderace can use the Fighting Charged Attack Focus Blast alongside Fire options. A Fighting weakness may hurt survival; inspect boss moves if your tank falls unusually quickly.

Divide Damage, Defense, and Recovery

Gigantamax Battles support up to 40 participants divided into groups of up to four. Agree within the group who deals damage and who supports survival.

Attack Role: Prepare Max Moves and Switching

For ordinary Dynamax Pokémon, the Fast Attack determines the offensive Max Move’s type. Gigantamax Pokémon use their dedicated G-Max attack. Verify which structure applies to your attacker.

Support Role: Keep the Group Fighting

Max Guard protects the user, while Max Spirit restores the group’s Pokémon. Unlock and upgrade the moves needed for your role, particularly if attackers fall before contributing.

Prepare to dodge when targeted, collect energy icons for the Max Meter, and use cheering to help allies’ meter after your own team faints.

Should You Invest in the Catch?

Keep Candidates If Fire Coverage Is Missing

Fire attacks exploit Grass, Bug, Ice, and Steel weaknesses. Keep Cinderace as a candidate for relevant Max Battles, but compare existing Fire investments before adding more.

IVs Are Only Part of Readiness

An excellent appraisal still needs level and Max Moves. Check:

  1. Is there an upcoming role for a Fire attacker?
  2. Which owned Cinderace fits the cost and appraisal?
  3. Are the role’s Max Moves prepared?
  4. What does actual survival and damage suggest upgrading next?

The Original Paid Ticket

The event’s Timed Research listed one Max Mushroom, 25,000 XP, and 6,400 Particles, with 2× Max Battle XP. Its window has ended. Those benefits did not guarantee a Shiny or particular IVs.

FAQ

Was a Shiny Guaranteed?

No. It was an opportunity to encounter one.

Were 40 Players Mandatory?

Forty was the maximum, not a fixed requirement. Team levels, moves, boss attacks, and roles affect the group needed. Beginners can favor a well-prepared larger group.

Are Particles Spent on Failure?

Official Max Battle guidance says they are consumed on defeating the boss. After failure, adjust eligible Pokémon and roles before retrying.

Start with prepared Water damage and group survival. After catching, identify the next actual Fire role before investing further.

Regional and version notes

This localization uses English Pokémon, move, and item names. Global schedules marked local time follow your play location; Korea-only events use KST and the Sendai event uses JST. Ended events are historical, not renewed reward offers. Tactical recommendations and upgrade priorities are editorial guidance, not guaranteed wins or live performance rankings. October 3 event limits and ticket rewards are historical. A 40-player maximum is not a 40-player requirement. Counter choices require eligible individuals and an appropriate Max Move.
