Historical Korean rework commentary · About these guides
Korea reworked Soulfist on June 24, followed by further balance changes; the Western September package included the rework and additional adjustments. The source praises improved accessibility, but does not establish that every setup became easy or universally stronger.
Three Approaches Discussed by the Source
Different cores and passives can emphasize different damage patterns. Compare complete compatible builds rather than treating the source’s three informal labels as official preset names.
-
World Decimation Focus: This approach emphasizes landing a major orb attack. Its current skill classification and required core effects matter; the old “one Awakening does everything” description is not a complete modern build.
-
Lower-Input Setup: The source calls one variant a “one-click” setup, but provides no complete preset or damage test. Fewer inputs do not guarantee high output without mechanics knowledge and the required effects.
-
Supreme Art: This is the reworked playstyle formerly associated with Energy Overflow, correcting the source’s misspelled Korean name. It uses True Energy and Divine Kick/Palm/Fist techniques. The claimed 50% gauge restoration on Awakening must be checked against the actual selected effects; it is not established as an unconditional base-class rule.
These alternatives can offer different priorities, but their relative value depends on available cores, skill gems, point allocation, and the encounter.
Conviction, Judgment, and Major-Skill Timing

If your chosen setup uses Conviction and Judgment, track the actual proc and its cooldown or resource effects. They do not simply add a generic damage multiplier to every ultimate or technique.
The source recommends aligning major casts with Judgment. Verify which cooldowns and categories actually benefit rather than assuming all skills receive the same effect.
If the loop stalls, compare skill choices, cooldown gems, and appropriate Swiftness allocation. Lowering Crit can have a cost too. Match the full build’s needs instead of copying an isolated stat adjustment or promising one rune pairing solves everything.
Is the Rework Automatically Easy to Play?

The source argues that some variants are more forgiving. It supplies no measured execution comparison showing that pressing skills without a plan produces nearly identical damage.
Many setups can reduce positional pressure, but Hit Master applies only under its own conditions. A non-positional skill is not evidence that every attack benefits, and reliable resource generation and hit timing still matter.
Calculate Effective Crit Once
Use current tooltips and conditional effects rather than a fixed number copied from another character.
A Crit Checklist
-
Start with the Displayed Value: Open your character details and determine which effects the displayed Crit already includes. Town and combat states can differ.
-
Then Add Missing Conditions: Include relevant Adrenaline, party synergy, skill effects, and applicable passive bonuses without counting anything twice. The source’s “Master +7%” example is not a universally verified node or permanent bonus for every setup.
-
Choose the Target for the Actual Build
-
If Using Blunt Thorn: An effective value around 120% is the source’s example, not a universal target. Blunt Thorn is an Ark Passive effect, not a combat engraving; check its actual conversion rules and cap.
-
If Effective Crit Exceeds 100%: Without an overflow-conversion effect, compare reducing excess Crit. With Blunt Thorn or other applicable effects, do not assume it is all wasted. The source’s proposed “crushing” replacement node is not identified well enough for a reliable Western allocation. Use current named effects and compare the full result.
-
Other Adjustments: Swiftness can help cooldown needs, but the source also confuses a passive option with replacing Keen Blunt Weapon directly. Ark Passive allocations and combat engravings are separate choices; evaluate them in a compatible complete setup.
-
Build flexibility is useful when you understand those dependencies. It does not mean any combination of individually strong effects produces a functional character.
Should You Try Soulfist Now?
Consider it if the revised resource and skill flow appeal to you. The source’s praise of damage and convenience is opinion, and some protection or animation tradeoffs remain setup-dependent. The full current Western patch matters more than the original June reaction.
Try a compatible setup in training and appropriate content before making a large investment. Look for a playstyle you enjoy and can execute reliably rather than a promised effortless “one-click” result.
