After 1700: Compare Honing Costs, Permanent Rewards, and Weekly Spending

Korean progression framework with corrected system rules · About these guides

Plan progression beyond 1700 by comparing honing with permanent rewards and the systems your build still needs. This guide corrects several overly broad claims in the Korean source; it does not promise the fastest or cheapest route for every character.

Advanced Honing Is a Comparison, Not an Automatic First Choice

Korean post-1700 honing and currency planning

Ordinary honing uses success chances and Artisan’s Energy. Advanced Honing progresses differently, but random gains and total costs still matter. Neither system should be chosen solely because the other is described as “waste.”

  • What Advanced Honing Provides: Attempts build progression toward levels, with variable amounts and bonuses. Paying for one attempt does not always complete a level, and the total budget is not fixed. The currency is Silver, rather than the source’s mistaken term.

  • The Source’s +18 / Stage 40 Route: That example depends on equipment generation and Advanced Honing already included in the current item level. It is not a universal formula for moving any 1700 character to 1720. Calculate the actual remaining gains and costs per piece.

  • Special Honing: Eligible Special Honing leapstones use their own no-gold attempt rules. Check the actual item and content reward; they are not a general replacement for the gold fee of ordinary or Advanced Honing, and the outcome is not guaranteed.

Arkesia Tour and Permanent Progression

Permanent progression rewards and growth shop examples

Arkesia Tour can streamline selected collection and progression rewards. It does not automatically finish all horizontal content or replace every remaining prerequisite.

  • Useful Rewards: Inspect the current stages for Skill Point Potions, stat rewards, and runes relevant to your class. Claim what you qualify for rather than assuming every stage instantly supplies every listed item.

  • Una’s Reputations: Prioritize the actual reputation rewards you need, including applicable skill-point or progression items. Check prerequisites and existing roster progress before committing daily completions.

Track Enlightenment Potion Sources

Enlightenment Potions can provide valuable permanent points. Plan around the actual sources without treating a missed session as an irreversible character disadvantage.

  • Time-Limited Opportunities: Some sources have schedules or weekly limits. Missing one opportunity can delay progress, but does not generally mean the potion is lost forever. Check the source’s actual repeat and eligibility rules.

  • Source Categories to Verify

    • Relevant sea-adventure or map rewards, where the current item lists them.

    • Eligible Field Boss rewards.

    • The applicable Una’s reputation rewards.

  • Useful Habit: Open the Item Dictionary using your configured shortcut, commonly Alt+D, and inspect Enlightenment Potion sources. Esc opens the main menu; it is not the direct dictionary shortcut claimed by the source.

Using Growth-Shop Currency

Spend medals on a specific next upgrade. A universal weekly “top four” list can buy materials your character does not currently need.

  1. Destruction Stones: Match the material tier and type to the weapon or other intended equipment. Buy them first only if they are the real bottleneck.

  2. Abidos Fusion Materials: Check the actual recipe and required Trade Skill resources. Fusion materials are not obtained only by logging, and market or shop purchases should be compared with crafting and available rewards.

  3. Metallurgy / Tailoring Chests: These support the specified ordinary honing ranges. The source’s claim that Advanced Honing consumes dozens or hundreds of these books is incorrect; inspect the exact item’s applicability before buying.

  4. Raid Exchange Materials: Check what each NPC actually exchanges and the relevant limits. A raid currency is not automatically exchangeable for breath materials or Relic books.

Use the Live Calendar

Checking activity schedules and reward eligibility

Procyon’s Compass and the current reward UI help identify activities that fit your schedule. Gold type and reward eligibility can differ by activity and patch.

  • Gold-Reward Adventure Islands: Check the island’s actual reward and collection limits. Do not assume every island provides tradable gold or that a gold activity is always more useful than your missing progression reward.

  • Chaos Gates: Use the live regional calendar and reward count. The source’s fixed weekday list and “once per week” rule should not replace the current entry and reward UI; rare engraving rewards are not guaranteed.

  • Field Bosses: Check the actual schedule rather than assuming every boss appears exactly three minutes after the hour. Different bosses and events have different rules. Loot auctions and a specific gold distribution are not guaranteed on every eligible kill.

Progression from 1700 upward is a set of comparisons rather than one mandatory path.

  1. Compare remaining Advanced Honing gains with ordinary honing and other useful systems.

  2. Use Arkesia Tour for the eligible permanent rewards you still need.

  3. Track Enlightenment Potions by their actual source and repeat rules.

  4. Buy applicable fusion materials and honing support when they solve a real bottleneck.

  5. Follow live Field Boss and island schedules instead of fixed timing claims or guaranteed-income assumptions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I Use Ordinary Honing to Reach My Next Goal?

    • Yes, if the comparison favors it. Price the complete route using existing progress, support, bound materials, and random outcomes. Advanced Honing is not universally cheaper, while Artisan’s Energy is part of ordinary honing’s cost model rather than proof that the gold produced no progression.

  • Must I Finish Every Arkesia Tour Stage Immediately?

    • Prioritize useful rewards. Inspect what each stage grants and whether your roster already has it. Tour progress can be valuable without being a universal raid-entry requirement.

  • Is a Field Boss Bugged If It Did Not Spawn on the Hour?

    • Not necessarily. Read its schedule and entry conditions. There is no universal“hour plus three minutes” rule for every boss. Check the correct location, channel, and event status without assuming waiting three minutes guarantees a spawn or kill.
