Zorua Community Day 2026: Shiny Collecting, Sucker Punch, and Evolution Timing

URITRIP·October 6, 2026

Zorua Community Day on October 10, 2026 combined increased encounters with catch XP and collecting opportunities. This guide preserves that ended event’s structure: catch during the main window, then choose intended evolutions before its separate deadline. Collection and league candidates need different checks.

Original Hours and Bonuses

The main event ran 2–5 p.m. local time, with the featured evolution window and selected bonuses through 9 p.m. These were local hours in North America as well as other eligible locations, not a simultaneous Korean schedule.

Feature

Original Bonus

Increased wild encounters

2–5 p.m.

Catch rewards

3× XP and 2× Candy

Candy XL

2× catch chance for Trainers level 31+

Regular Incense

Three hours when activated during the event

Regular Lure Modules

One-hour duration; extended event feature 2–9 p.m.

Maximum two Special Trades; half Stardust, 2–9 p.m.

Featured evolution

Sucker Punch from evolution during 2–9 p.m.

Daily Adventure Incense was excluded. Separate the three-hour catching window from the bonuses that continued afterward.

Shinies and Special Backgrounds

Separate Catching From Appraisal

Repeatedly opening appraisal can interrupt encounter flow. Favorite useful-looking catches and compare them during breaks or after the main window.

Do not evolve every Shiny automatically. Keep individuals for the Zorua collection separately from intended Zoroark, and protect background candidates too.

Regular Lures and Field Research

The official plan extended Zorua opportunities from regular Lures through 9 p.m., including Shiny and Special Background chances. Field Research also supplied encounters, with some tasks specifying a background.

A route around clustered PokéStops could combine research and lure checks with breaks. The announced evening feature was separate from the main wild outbreak.

Keep partial collection successes until sorting: a Shiny without the desired background, or a background without Shiny, may still matter to your goal.

Evolving for Sucker Punch

Evolving Zorua into Zoroark by 9 p.m. that day granted the Fast Attack Sucker Punch. Catching ended at 5 p.m., but evolution had a later cutoff. That special window has now closed.

The decision sequence was:

  1. Favorite collection Shinies and backgrounds.

  2. Separate league and high-IV candidates.

  3. Check evolved CP against the intended cap.

  4. Choose and evolve before the deadline.

  5. Confirm Sucker Punch in the move list.

If trading too, leave time for evolution decisions. Tagging league candidates helps avoid choosing in a last-minute rush.

Zoroark Investment Decisions

Choose the League First

Sucker Punch and Snarl produce different damage-and-energy rhythms. Compare Charged Attack timing as well as Fast Attack damage rather than assuming the featured move wins every matchup.

Decide between Great League and Ultra League before spending. Keep plausible lower-Attack candidates, but verify IV ranking and evolved CP rather than declaring any low-Attack spread optimal.

A resource-limited player could obtain the move while available and postpone powering up or unlocking a second attack until a real use emerged.

Raids: Compare Existing Dark Attackers

Assess what an additional Zoroark adds alongside already powered-up Dark types and the cost of building it.

A high-IV candidate can be kept without immediate maxing. Sucker Punch alone does not establish top raid performance; collection and league preparation may take priority if your raid team is complete.

Planning Catch XP

Storage and Ball shortages reduce useful catch time. Prepare capacity, supplies, battery, and a practical route first.

Time Lucky Eggs around sustained catching rather than a long meal break or travel period where you cannot play.

Do not spend excessive time forcing one Excellent Throw. Balance accurate throws with reliable catches according to your execution.

A short loop with multiple PokéStops can support restocking and breaks without a long detour.

Paid Research: Judge the Listed Rewards

The historical US$1.99 ticket listed three Special Background Zorua encounters, a Premium Battle Pass, a Rare Candy XL, and additional rewards. A background encounter is not a guaranteed Shiny.

Compare the specified items and tasks with your interests. Free research and lures offered alternatives; the ended ticket is not a current offer.

FAQ

Did Zorua Encounters Continue After 5 p.m.?

The announced regular-Lure feature continued to 9 p.m. It did not extend the entire wild outbreak to that time.

What Was the Exact Shiny Rate?

The official notice did not publish a numeric rate. No encounter count guaranteed success.

Should I Power Up Zoroark Immediately?

Choose a suitable role and candidate first. In the original event, obtaining the move could be separated from later investment. Today, check its actual move-access requirements rather than assuming that evolution window remains active.

Regional and version notes

This localization uses English Pokémon, move, and item names. Global schedules marked local time follow your play location; Korea-only events use KST and the Sendai event uses JST. Ended events are historical, not renewed reward offers. Tactical recommendations and upgrade priorities are editorial guidance, not guaranteed wins or live performance rankings. October 10 Community Day and its 9 p.m. evolution window have ended. This records the official announced lure bonuses, not a new verification of every live-server behavior during the event. A Special Background is not a guaranteed Shiny. Some illustrations are retained from the Korean edition and may include Korean labels. Use the English article text for instructions.
