Pokémon GO's Twilight Trails season brought Paldea additions, new Mega Evolutions, and new Dynamax Pokémon. September 2026 also featured Mega Finale, Community Day Classic, a Super Mega Raid Day, and Catch Mastery. This article records that opening-month calendar; its September event windows have ended.
For Trainers following Mega Staraptor and Mega Chandelure, the source recommended organizing suitable individuals and Candy. Below is the original calendar and preparation plan, with later confirmations identified where relevant.
Twilight Trails Season Dates
Twilight Trails runs September 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. through December 1 at 10:00 a.m. local time. North American Trainers use their own play location's clock. Seasonal wild encounters, Egg pools, and Research Breakthrough rewards change with the season.
GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale took place September 5–6, before the season began. It was a separate event leading into the September 8 seasonal change.
September 2026's Main Events

September 5–6: GO Fest 2026 Mega Finale
Mega Finale ran 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. local time each day. Mega Mewtwo X headlined Saturday's Super Mega Raids, with Mega Mewtwo Y on Sunday.
Remote Raid limits were removed for that event weekend, and Mega-Evolved Pokémon received an extra CP boost. Coordinating a group and budgeting passes and healing items were useful preparation steps; the higher limit did not provide free Remote Passes.
September 8: Twilight Trails and September GO Pass Began
Both started at 10:00 a.m. local time. September's free GO Pass included a Latios encounter, Rare Candy XL, a Premium Battle Pass, a Lucky Egg, and other rewards as you progressed.
Milestone bonuses covered trade Candy and Candy XL, Gift limits, doubled Daily Adventure Incense duration, and increased hatch XP and Stardust. These required reaching their respective ranks rather than applying automatically at the start.
September 12: Community Day Classic
Community Day Classic took place September 12. The source was written before its featured species was identified; the later official announcement confirmed Gible. Item planning still depended on the actual announced bonuses.
Classic events offered another opportunity for a featured Shiny and special move. Checking evolution Candy and conditions before the window was useful preparation.
September 19: Super Mega Raid Day
The source's then-upcoming Super Mega Raid Day was later confirmed as Mega Staraptor on September 19, 2:00–5:00 p.m. local time. Mega Chandelure's seasonal debut was a separate announcement, not another guaranteed boss in that same window.
New Megas could serve collection, combat, and Candy-bonus goals. Organizing Starly and Litwick candidates and Candy was reasonable, while their exact usefulness required the released stats and moves.
September 26: Catch Mastery
Catch Mastery was scheduled for September 26. At publication, the source suggested preparing Nanab Berries, Pinap Berries, and balls for a catching-focused event; that was preparation advice, not a complete confirmed task list.
The featured Pokémon and exact bonuses depended on the event's separate announcement. This calendar entry is historical and does not reopen its research or rewards.
New Pokémon in Twilight Trails

Maschiff and Mabosstiff
Paldea's Maschiff and its Evolution, Mabosstiff, made their Pokémon GO debuts during the season. The later Mega Squads announcement identified Maschiff routes through Eggs, Field Research, and the GO Pass; do not assume a general wild release from this season overview.
Pinap Berries and choosing it as a Buddy could help with evolution Candy once you had an appropriate encounter or catch.
Mega Staraptor and Mega Chandelure
The season preview announced Mega Evolutions for Staraptor and Chandelure. The source discussed a possible Flying role for Staraptor and Fire/Ghost roles for Chandelure.
Actual usefulness required released stats and moves. For a new Mega, collecting enough Energy for the first evolution was a more specific initial goal than blindly chasing a speculative tier placement.
New Max Battle Options
Dynamax Rhyhorn, Sneasel, and Sizzlipede were among the season's announced additions. Dynamax Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf were also announced for a seasonal Max Battle Day.
Prepare appropriate Max Moves and a Particle budget for intended targets. Attack, healing, and shielding roles can all matter; an all-attacker team is not automatically the safest plan.
Seasonal Egg Examples
The season's announced Egg pools included these examples, rather than a complete guarantee for every Egg:
-
2 km Eggs: Elekid, Magby, Azurill, and others
-
5 km Eggs: Munchlax, Sizzlipede, Fidough, and others
-
7 km Eggs: Galarian Meowth, Galarian Zigzagoon, Galarian Stunfisk, and others
-
Mateo Gift Exchange 7 km Eggs: Galarian Slowpoke, Hisuian Sneasel, Galarian Corsola, and others
-
10 km Eggs: Dratini, Honedge, Impidimp, and others
Adventure Sync reward Eggs included Pokémon such as Tyrogue, Sableye, and Budew in the relevant pool, or Bagon, Druddigon, and Drampa in the other. Leave space before receiving the intended Egg, and check its actual hatch list. Event Eggs can differ from the seasonal baseline.
The Original September Preparation Order

1. Coordinate Mega Finale Raids
Mega Mewtwo X and Y were assigned different days. The source recommended planning the day, group, passes, Potions, and Revives beforehand.
2. Organize Candidates for New Megas
Check Starly and Litwick individuals and Candy for eventual Staraptor and Chandelure use. Their Energy came from the applicable released sources, not simply from owning their pre-evolutions.
3. Progress the September GO Pass
September's pass had trade bonuses from its early milestone. Regularly checking available tasks helped Trainers who expected to trade, while its later claim deadline remained separate from progression.
4. Manage Egg Space and Max Resources
Check Egg slots before collecting the pool you want and save Max Particles for intended targets. This was the September plan; check current event announcements before spending resources today.
