Saving Rest Bonus Before an Update: A Historical Korean Serca Example

Historical Korean pre-Serca Rest Bonus plan · About these guides

A New Raid Can Change the Reward Comparison

The source was written before Korea’s January 7, 2026 Serca update. That date has passed, and the Western release followed April 15. This is a retrospective about planning, rather than a current countdown or a guaranteed launch-day profit strategy.

The Source’s December 28 Start Date

It advised characters at 1730 or above to stop the relevant daily activities from December 28 and accumulate Rest Bonus.
Its ten-day plan assumed an empty gauge, a particular daily accumulation rate, and a cap reached by January 7. Do not apply that schedule to every activity or current patch: check your actual gauge, cap, missed-entry rules, and update date.

Why New Materials Can Affect Value

A gear expansion may introduce a higher material tier. Historical transitions do not guarantee that every future transfer update changes materials or makes rested farming more valuable than ordinary play.

The source relies on this pricing assumption:
A new material exchanges at one unit for five older units, so the opening price might be near five times the older item’s price. That is a model, not a guaranteed Market price or a universal exchange rule.

Early rewards are valuable only to the extent you can use or trade them. Character-bound materials cannot simply be sold for the assumed price, and scarce tradable drops or Fate Embers are not guaranteed income.

The Risks of Saving Entries

The original acknowledges two important uncertainties. They must be resolved from actual patch notes before turning a historical pattern into a spending or farming plan.
First: the new content may use different materials, reward rules, or progression requirements from the assumed example. The Western April notes now describe the implemented upper-tier system, rather than an unconfirmed January preview.

Second: a new activity may not use the old activity’s gauge or may handle it differently. Item level alone does not establish that a stored gauge transfers to every new dungeon or Guardian.

The useful lesson is to verify the implementation and then compare rewards. Prior patterns can suggest a question to check; they cannot establish an investment return.

Compare the Lost Rewards With the Possible Benefit

The source calls the plan low risk and high return, but provides no complete expected-value calculation. Its conclusion depends on the old and new rewards, how much rest is recovered, and what you forgo by skipping play.

Skipped rewards are a real opportunity cost. Rest generally recovers only part of missed earning opportunities, so the loss should not be dismissed as automatically negligible. Existing goals, deadlines, and enjoyable sessions can also matter.

Save Rest Bonus when the confirmed rules and your goals justify it. Otherwise, continue normally or use rest to manage your time. Neither choice guarantees a large profit, and the archived December-to-January dates should not be repeated as current instructions.
