Korean progression advice and historical price examples · About these guides
Before pushing toward 1720, check the systems that make your build function. Selection chests, skill gems, engraving progress, and suitable cards can be worth comparing with another equipment hone.
Item level alone does not guarantee a useful build or a party slot. That is a reason to plan your next upgrade, not proof that reaching 1720 will make a newcomer quit.
A pause can help if your intended content needs effects you have not unlocked. The source incorrectly ties 1720 progression to ordinary Aegir Hard; that raid’s established entry level is 1680. Choose a target from the actual content UI rather than that mistaken example.
When Saving a Selection Chest Makes Sense

A selection chest preserves flexibility until you know the missing item. Its value depends on the usable contents, restrictions, and current prices. Engraving books, skill gems, and card packs are different systems, not interchangeable item grades.
Historical Korean Engraving Price Examples
Engraving Source Price per Book Source Cost for Ten How to Interpret It Grudge 150,000 gold. 1,500,000 gold. Historical Korean example, not a verified current Western price or automatically the best selection. Raid Captain / Keen Blunt Weapon 130,000–140,000 gold. 1,300,000–1,400,000 gold. Only valuable if the learned effect fits the build and the chest permits that choice. Adrenaline 120,000 gold. 1,200,000 gold. Another source example; useful progression and current acquisition cost matter more than the old quote. Less Expensive Engravings 50,000–70,000 gold. 500,000–700,000 gold. Not automatically a bad selection. A cheaper effect can still be the right choice if it solves an immediate build need. Compare your actual alternatives. The “Last One or Two Books” Heuristic
-
Do Not Open Boxes Without a Goal: Waiting can preserve flexibility while you earn random rewards. However, selecting five or ten books is not inherently wasteful if it unlocks useful effects at a worthwhile cost.
-
Aim for a Useful Milestone: The source saves boxes for books 19–20. Eligible Relic engravings also improve at 5/10/15 books, so compare the next milestone rather than treating the final two as the only valid use.
-
Skill Gems and Other Selection Rewards: Confirm the intended class and build before opening a restricted chest. Check deadlines too; waiting indefinitely can be worse if a reward expires.
Pausing at 1710 or Progressing to 1720

Neither level guarantees easy recruitment or rejection. Decide based on the content unlocked, your complete build, and whether you want to play that content.
Evaluate the Real Content Options
-
The Source’s 1710 Pause: Denouement Solo Mode is available from 1710 under the cited Western rules. Ordinary Aegir Normal is lower, at 1660, so it should not be described as a new 1710 unlock.
-
What 1720 Can Add: Horizon Cathedral Stage 2 is one 1720 option. Ordinary Aegir Hard is not a new 1720 raid. The source’s universal Elixir, Transcendence, and Lostwind-like card checklist is also not an official requirement; use appropriate current effects for the actual encounter.
Rewards While You Build Other Systems
Staying at a level can free resources for other improvements, but does not automatically maximize income.
-
Raid Rewards: Earn eligible engraving-related rewards where they actually appear; not every raid guarantees a Relic book or pouch.
-
Fate Embers: Eligible daily content can provide random rewards. Check item-level and regional tables instead of budgeting around guaranteed gold or a specific book.
-
Events: Live events may help with cards and engraving progression. Future showcase rewards or an “extreme” event are not guaranteed until announced with their actual terms.
How Many Characters Do You Want to Maintain?
More alts spread both resources and playtime. Match the roster to your budget and enjoyment instead of treating every available gold-earning slot as an obligation.
-
Two or Three Focused Characters: This is the source’s manageable-roster example, not a guaranteed income level or the correct roster size for everyone.
-
Waiting for Growth Support: A future pass or event can change the cost of an alt, but its timing and contents are uncertain. Waiting is an option, not a promise of a free complete roster.
-
Avoid a Race You Do Not Enjoy: Choose a pace that lets you learn mechanics and improve useful systems. You do not need to match the newest clear or highest item level immediately.
Decision Checklist
-
Selection Chests: Use them for a known valuable milestone, checking both future flexibility and expiry. The last one or two books are a heuristic, not an absolute rule.
-
A Progression Pause: Compare the next hone with actual missing build effects. A pause at 1710 is optional, not evidence that 1720 is inherently wasteful.
-
Event Timing: Use currently announced, eligible rewards rather than assuming the next showcase will solve every cost.
Before spending, inspect your gems, engraving progress, cards, and active core effects. Pick the next upgrade that helps your intended content most. Honing and other systems both have a place; neither is the only way to preserve enjoyment.
When Should I Select Adrenaline Books?
At a useful milestone. Compare the next 5/10/15/20-book effect with your current build and alternatives. Waiting until 18 or 19 books can preserve flexibility, but is not always the best choice if an earlier milestone matters now.
What Should I Farm While Paused at 1710?
Content with rewards you can actually use. Choose eligible daily activities and weekly raids, then check the live reward tables. Treat Fate Embers and random pouches as uncertain extras rather than guaranteed funding.
Should I Rush to Six Characters?
Only if you want the workload and can afford it. There is no need to fill all slots immediately. Focus on characters you enjoy and understand, then compare the real cost of expanding with any currently available support.
