Historical Korean reward analysis with Western system differences · About these guides
Korea’s summer 2026 support programs supplied Astrogems through events, growth products, PC-café rewards, and selection chests. This is an analysis of those Korean offers, with the Western system differences identified below.
Astrogems belong to Ark Grid, the core-and-gem system. They are distinct from skill gems and do not directly serve as Ark Passive point items. A starter Ark Grid setup aims to activate the core effects your build needs.
Option Fixed Epic Astrogem Selection Chests reduce uncertainty about the starting effects. They do not guarantee the final processed result.
Check Reward Conditions Before Counting Gems
The source lists coupons, PC-café events, summer events, Ark Pass tracks, growth programs, and paid bundles. Availability and eligibility differ by region and event window.
Some require a selected character, class, item level, premium purchase, or accumulated PC-café time. Not every reward is free or available to every player.
Adding all programs into a single “32 free gems” or “49 free gems” total would therefore be misleading without an eligibility breakdown.
Historical Korean Reward Routes
| Route | Example Reward | Conditions to Check |
|---|---|---|
| Summer coupons and events. | Epic-or-higher Astrogems or selection chests. | Valid coupon dates and completed missions. |
| PC-café playtime events. | Epic or Ancient Astrogem-related rewards. | Korean participating-PC-café and playtime requirements. |
| Ark Pass. | Free and premium Astrogem rewards. | Premium-track rewards require payment. |
| Growth support events. | Option Fixed Epic Astrogem Selection Chests. | Designated character and item-level eligibility. |
| Korean Dimensionalist premium growth track. | Six Option Fixed Epic Astrogem Selection Chests in total. | Three at 1710 and three at 1715 in the historical offer. |
| Korean Dimensionalist Astrogem support package. | Three fixed-option Epic selection chests plus other contents. | 33,000 Korean Royal Crystals; sales ended August 19. |
The Korean premium growth track offered six fixed-option chests, not eight: three each at 1710 and 1715. Its purchase period ended October 14. This does not establish a current Western purchase or a new player’s eligibility to claim past missions.
The separate historical 33,000-Royal-Crystal package contained:
- One Processed Order Astrogem Chest II.
- One Processed Chaos Astrogem Chest II.
- Three Option Fixed Epic Astrogem Selection Chests.
- Seven Astrogem Processing Reset Tickets.
The archived contents and dates appear in Korea’s July 8 product and probability notice. Korean Royal Crystal prices are not interchangeable with Western store prices or dollar amounts.
What Fixed Starting Effects Actually Guarantee
The chest lets you choose an offensive or support selection, then a gem with the listed starting effect pair.
That removes one source of initial randomness. It does not remove random processing outcomes, Willpower constraints, or the need for sufficient Core Points.
Offensive Starting Effects in the Korean Chest
| Astrogem | Starting Combat Effects |
|---|---|
| Order: Stable | Additional damage and attack power. |
| Order: Solidity | Boss damage and attack power. |
| Order: Eternal | Boss damage and additional damage. |
| Chaos: Erosion | Attack power and additional damage. |
| Chaos: Distortion | Boss damage and attack power. |
| Chaos: Collision | Boss damage and additional damage. |
Eternal or Collision can offer an appealing offensive pair, but the correct choice also depends on the core type, available Willpower, and Core Points required by the full setup.
Support Starting Effects in the Korean Chest
| Astrogem | Starting Combat Effects |
|---|---|
| Order: Stable | Ally damage enhancement and Brand Power. |
| Order: Solidity | Ally attack enhancement and ally damage enhancement. |
| Order: Eternal | Ally attack enhancement and Brand Power. |
| Chaos: Erosion | Ally damage enhancement and Brand Power. |
| Chaos: Distortion | Ally attack enhancement and ally damage enhancement. |
| Chaos: Collision | Ally attack enhancement and Brand Power. |
Compare the buff effects your current setup needs, then check the core type and point target. One subtype is not automatically best for every support.
Processing and Reset Limits
The specific Korean fixed-option chests in the July notice allow two processing resets, creating up to three processing runs including the first. That is a special item rule, not a blanket reset allowance for all Western Astrogems.
The initial effects can change during processing. A reset returns the gem to its initial processing state rather than preserving accumulated good rolls, and it does not guarantee a better outcome.
Before opening and processing:
- Choose the Order or Chaos type your core needs.
- Calculate the required activated Core Points.
- Choose starting effects appropriate to DPS or support.
- Compare the proposed gem with your actual current combination.
- Check reset eligibility, remaining attempts, costs, and what the reset discards.
The chest’s advantage is a suitable starting pair, rather than a guaranteed finished gem. The Western baseline reset rules and any special item exception must be checked separately.
What This Support Approach Changes
The Korean programs primarily add supply through events and products rather than replacing the whole processing system.
More accessible starter gems can help new and returning players. The effect on existing high-end gem prices would depend on supply, demand, and eligibility; it is not quantified here.
The source does not establish an official intention to prevent gold inflation. Economic effects are an interpretation unless the developer explicitly states the policy objective.
Korean Trading Costs Versus the Western System
Korean market purchases can involve both gold and Pheons. In the Western system, Astrogems are not tradable or listed on the Auction House. North American players should not follow the Korean auction-buying advice as a local purchase route.
Historical claims such as 30,000–50,000 gold per gem or a minimum 1.5-million-gold reward value are not fixed values. A Korean resale comparison also does not establish the value of an untradable Western reward.
When comparing available gems or a local product, check:
- Astrogem grade.
- Order or Chaos type.
- Stable, Solidity, Eternal, Erosion, Distortion, or Collision subtype.
- Offensive or support starting effects.
- Actual acquisition cost; Korean market pricing is region-specific.
- Pheon cost only where a regional transaction actually requires it.
- Character-bound or roster-bound rules.
- Processing state and reset eligibility.
Use rewards where they improve your own setup. Western fusion can produce roster-bound gems under its rules; that does not make them market-tradable.
Evaluating an Ancient Astrogem Reward
A higher grade alone does not prove that a replacement improves your setup. Compare its starting state, stats, processing result, Willpower requirement, and activated Core Points.
Stable and Erosion are separate subtypes in different categories:
- Order: Stable.
- Chaos: Erosion.
Their offensive starting pairs can include attack power and additional damage. Their similar role does not make them a single item or allow an Order gem to fit a Chaos slot.
Before discarding a gem solely because it lacks boss damage, compare:
- Its relevant base stats against the existing gem.
- The Core Points available after processing.
- Whether the complete combination activates the required core effects.
- Its actual offensive or support contribution.
- The cost and risk of resetting processing.
Do Not Chase One Effect Without a Budget
Boss damage can be useful for DPS, but the presence of that effect alone does not justify repeated processing at any cost.
Processing has limited attempts. Changing combat effects can compete with improving other values, and a desirable pair still needs usable Willpower and Core Points.
A fixed one-in-four success claim is not established without the actual outcome pool and state-dependent rules. Do not infer a final level’s probability from the number of visible options alone.
Use these priorities:
- Secure the Core Points that make the build function.
- Do not discard strong attack-power or additional-damage results solely for lacking boss damage.
- Compare future replacement opportunities before heavily funding an Epic starter.
- Respect the regional binding rules; Western gems are not market-tradable.
- Spend reset tickets only after comparing the value of a fresh attempt with the result you would lose.
A Plan for Different Progression Stages
New and Returning Players
Start with live, eligible event and growth rewards rather than the archived Korean shop list. North American players can also check their current NPC and growth-shop options instead of looking for an Astrogem auction listing.
Aim first for a functional Order and Chaos core setup. Process available rewards, then identify the specific gap rather than spending toward an ideal complete set immediately.
Players Improving a Starter Setup
Use a suitable fixed-option chest on a weak slot where it can preserve or improve the required breakpoints.
DPS should compare boss damage, additional damage, and attack power; supports should compare ally attack, ally damage, and Brand Power. Evaluate the full active combination.
Players Pursuing High-End Results
Do not replace a usable gem just because a reward has a higher grade, or reject the reward just because one preferred effect is absent.
Set an upper spending limit that accounts for your next content goal and realistically available rewards. More processing does not guarantee a better final build.
Using Support Rewards Effectively
These rewards reduce the burden of starting Ark Grid. They do not directly activate Ark Passive and do not guarantee a perfect finished setup.
The Korean fixed-option chest supplies a selected starting pair and, for the listed July item, two resets. Use the rule for the actual item you own rather than assuming every Western chest shares that exception.
A useful order is:
- Claim live, eligible free rewards before purchasing extras.
- Match the Astrogem type to the required core.
- Calculate the activated Core Point target.
- Select a useful starting pair where the chest allows it.
- Process usable reward gems before considering additional paid supply; Western Astrogem auctions are unavailable.
- Replace gems by actual effects, capacity, and points rather than grade alone.
Check the current client and event terms before spending. In the West, fusion binding and Silver-versus-gold processing rules also differ from the Korean market-centered examples in this article.
