Choosing an Alt Parking Level After Horizon Cathedral

Where Should You Park an Alt?

The Korean source favors 1710 as a historical compromise between rewards and workload.

Horizon Cathedral added more options, prompting the author to reconsider a fixed stopping point. That does not make every previous plan obsolete.

Reconsidering the 1710 Target

A useful parking level depends on the activities you intend to play, their rewards, and the cost of reaching them. The source does not supply a complete comparison proving 1710 was universally optimal or that every level above 1700 now returns equal value.

Choose from your roster budget and available time. Item-level scaling or additional rewards do not automatically refund honing costs, eliminate gearing needs, or make every alt profitable to raise.

Horizon Cathedral as Another Progression Option

The dungeon provides another route to usable materials. Whether it justifies an alt upgrade depends on your remaining goals and willingness to run it.

Graced Shards can support exchanges through Deni, including core and eligible honing-support items. Compare the actual item limits and requirements; a choice of rewards is not the same as unlimited access to all of them.

Stage 3 requires 1750 and offers a higher progression target. The source calls it an Ancient-core opportunity, but does not establish guaranteed desired-core drops or a payback period. The gold is character-bound, so it should not be counted as freely transferable roster income.

Planning for a Future Raid

The article was written ahead of a summer release. Its proposed preparation levels are historical speculation, rather than universal requirements for the newest raid today.

  • 1730: check which activities and gear systems it actually unlocks for your character. It is not automatically the cheapest route to every future transfer.
  • 1735: the source proposes a small buffer over a lower threshold. That may help a particular plan, but cannot guarantee:
    • 1. Faster acceptance in Party Finder.
    • 2. A reliable clear of an unspecified future Normal raid.
    • 3. Experience without actually learning and completing the relevant mechanics.

What Serca’s Rewards Actually Show

Harder modes can provide a more direct route to some materials. Inspect the current reward table before treating that structure as a requirement to push every alt.

The Western Serca notes give Agony Thorn directly in Hard and Nightmare. Normal provides Fragmented Agony Thorn that can be exchanged. The source’s statement that Normal offers no route toward these materials omits that distinction; crafting and transfer prerequisites remain separate checks.

A future Hard-only requirement is hypothetical until announced. It also does not prove the developer intends to force every alt upward to remove gold. Compare the next unlock with its full cost and your enjoyment; keeping an alt at its current level remains a valid choice.
