AION 2 Pet Understanding: An Early-Global Special-Slot Setup

KUKJIN LEE·October 15, 2026

Global setup example · About these guides

An established Korean pet setup may assume stats that a new global character does not yet have. Additional Attack versus Maximum Attack, and Accuracy versus Critical Hit, should be compared against the rest of the build.

The source's early-global example favors Additional Attack, percentage HP, Smite, and Damage Tolerance, then fills Accuracy or Critical Hit shortfalls. A Gladiator deliberately building around blocking may make different choices.

The table is a starting example for Special Understanding, not a verified best-in-slot result. English stat descriptions below should be matched to the exact options and slot numbering shown in your current client before spending.

Special Understanding slots 1–9

Early-global Special Understanding slot examples

The source separates a general setup from its optional Gladiator block setup:

Special slotGeneral example without a block focusGladiator block-focused example
1Additional AttackAdditional Attack
2HP Increase (%)HP Increase (%)
3Additional Accuracy or Critical HitBlock
4SmiteSmite
5Additional AttackAdditional Attack
6Accuracy or Critical HitBlock
7Damage ToleranceDamage Tolerance
8HP Increase (%)HP Increase (%)
9Additional Accuracy or Critical HitBlock

Accuracy and Critical Hit are alternatives for a shortage, not a command to make every slot identical. Slot-specific lists and numbering must match the actual Special screen; this table does not independently verify every regional roll pool. A Gladiator is not required to choose Block in all three slots.

Slots 1 and 5: why consider Additional Attack first?

Additional Attack and percentage HP pet-option choices

Maximum Attack depends on the wider setup

A Korean character and a new global character may be at different progression stages. When comparing Maximum Attack, consider the source's Perfection stat and Weapon Damage Amplification as well, using the corresponding descriptions in your client rather than assuming a single stat tells the whole story.

A recommendation written for an established Korean build may rely on those supporting stats. Check whether the same assumption holds for your character.

An early-progression starting point

The source favors Additional Attack in slots 1 and 5 before those supporting stats are developed. Once the setup changes, compare it with Maximum Attack again.

This is a progression-stage recommendation, not a universal damage formula or fixed swap threshold. Use a matched combat comparison instead of changing based on one headline stat.

Slots 2 and 8: flat HP versus percentage HP

The table means HP Increase shown as a percentage, not every option whose name contains HP.

Check the percentage symbol and actual value in the selection screen. Similar labels can describe different effects.

Flat and percentage values depend on existing stats and the available rolls. A percentage recommendation does not prove it wins at every progression stage.

Slots 3, 6, and 9: Accuracy/Critical Hit or Block

Comparing Accuracy, Critical Hit, and optional Gladiator Block

Without a block focus, fill a real shortfall

Consider the appropriate Accuracy option or Critical Hit for the intended activity. The three slots do not have to use the same option.

Start from the equipped character rather than another player's final setup:

  1. Check current Accuracy and Critical Hit.
  2. Look for misses against the actual targets you fight.
  3. Inspect the selectable options in each slot, then choose a useful improvement.

The source provides no shared Accuracy or Critical Hit cap for every encounter. Judge the shortage against the target and your equipment.

The Gladiator block setup is a separate build choice

A Gladiator pursuing the source's natural-block setup can compare Block in slots 3, 6, and 9, provided those are valid options in the client.

The important distinction is the build's purpose, not simply the class name. A damage-focused Gladiator can still need Accuracy or Critical Hit instead.

Pet options alone do not establish a working block build. Review the equipment, other stats, and intended content together.

Slots 4 and 7: Smite and Damage Tolerance

The source proposes Smite in slot 4. Its value against other offensive options still depends on the build, target, and available roll; it is not automatically the strongest option for everyone.

Damage Tolerance is its slot-7 defensive candidate. Compare it with the other defensive choices actually offered in your client.

A recommendation does not mean alternatives such as the source's Ironclad-type defensive stat have no effect. Their value depends on how the character takes damage.

Three checks before rerolling

First, distinguish ordinary and Special Understanding. This nine-slot table concerns the Special screen and should not be copied onto another pet category.

Second, check the progression assumptions behind a Korean build. Existing gear and supporting stats can change the reason for choosing the same named option.

Third, match the recommendation to the actual option list. Regional patches, labels, and slot order can differ. If the listed option does not appear where expected, verify the screen and current rules before spending materials.

Common questions

Can I copy a Korean pet setup directly?

Use it as a reference after checking the assumptions. This source's early-global example starts with Additional Attack in 1 and 5, rather than assuming an endgame Maximum Attack setup is already supported.

When should I switch to Maximum Attack?

Compare again after relevant supporting stats develop. The article does not establish one universal numerical threshold or a measured switch point.

Must Gladiators take Block in 3, 6, and 9?

No. That is an optional block-focused example; the intended build and real stat shortfalls determine whether it fits.

Which HP option does the table mean?

Percentage HP Increase in slots 2 and 8. Verify both the label and the percentage in the actual selection screen.

Does this guide include farming costs and unlock requirements?

No. It covers option choices. Materials, slot unlocks, reroll costs, probabilities, and any changed roll pools need separate checks before committing resources.
